IP Transit

For service providers wishing to obtain internet connectivity or supplement their existing transit mix we can provide a IP transit services.

• Delivery is available to anywhere on the network and can be supplied for connection to your own PA IP address space of we can provide a PI assignment for you.
• Our own IP transit is comprised of multiple Tier 1 an Tier 2 providers as well as Peering at major internet exchanges
• We can also provide direct transit connections to your chosen Tier 1 provider to anywhere on network should you have a preference.
• Fibrewales operates a fully resilient multihomed network with multiple points of connectivity within London and Manchester and across North Wales.
• We are able to supply high quality IP transit across the network to businesses and ISPs based in those locations.
• We have connections to no less than seven Tier 1 networks and peer at LINX, LoNAP, LIPEX, MaNAP, MCIX, XPE, and RBIEX
• We maintain three high speed diverse redundant connections between our London and Manchester networks ensuring that both networks can benefit completely from the capacity of the other and that additionally that both networks can operate independently and also as a backup path for the other.

Connectivity is available as either pay as you go based on a committed data rate (CDR) or at fixed speed rates.

Via the Wales FibreSpeed project, as an appointed FibreSpeed ISP we offer a range of connectivity products across North Wales.

CDR based billing

This is billed according to 95th percentile rules, and has the benefit of burst to 100Mbps to cope with peaks in your bandwidth needs.  You choose your CDR and you will be billed at your normal fixed rate and the amount you pay for your burst traffic.

Fixed rate billing
You choose your line speed and are billed at this rate. You are unable to burst beyond that speed without contacting us and opting for a higher bandwidth rate.   This option allows you to control your costs without incurring excess bandwidth charges. Our preference is to bill by CDR as this ensures that your bandwidth remains flexible and that your services is not hampered should you need to meet sudden demand at short notice.

IP Addressing
Charges are not made for IP addresses to transit customers however we do require that IP address usage is justified according to RIPE regulations.

Transit Options
We are able to deliver full or partial transit depending on your preference and so can provide either our own transit mix or via default route to any one of our transit providers or via policy based routing. BGP4, static and dynamic routing are available.

Monitoring and statistics
As well as our own 24x7x365 monitoring we provide real-time portal access to graphing of your current and past bandwidth usage enabling you to plan your usage.

Service Level Agreement
We operate a 99.999% network SLA with penalty clauses if we fail to deliver accordingly.
